ARCHERY
Our Storm Archery team clinched 2nd place in this weekend's San Diego Championship as 9 out of our 10 archers won spots on the podium!

Axel Mitchell toughed it out against elite competition to finish as the top men's archer in San Diego while both Francisco Ruiz and Sydney Yun shot their way into the top 3.

'Twas bittersweet to have to face off against each other but our Triples teams of Cassidy Knightly, Aidin Wessler, Simon Mantoani and Ally Yun, Tate McGeath, Nikko Gambler earned 3rd and 4th place finishes.
All in all a great day and now we'll focus on fine-tuning as we shoot against even tougher competition at the State Championship Tournament next month!

STORM BOYS VOLLEYBALL
Two big wins on Thursday for the STORM Boys Volleyball JV and Varsity teams. Both teams played against Chula Vista High School at the HTE gym. It was the first win for the JV team so especially sweet! The teams play again on Wednesday against Crawford High School at the HTE gym at 4:30pm.

SURF
Surf Team End of Season Results

The HTH Surf team finished their Scholastic Surf Series season with an overall team-versus-team record of 3-2, earning us 3rd place in the division.
Our riders had an impression showing this season with individual overall rankings for the entire division as follows:
Coed BodyBoard - HTH #1 Overall -  Logan Moore
Men's Longboard - HTH #1 Overall - Zach Frazee, and #2 Garret Bedford
Men's Shortboard HTH #3 Overall - Zach Frazee, and #4 Kolokai Lockwood
Women's Shortboard HTH #4 Overall - Emily Kurth
Women's Longboard HTH #5 Overall - Emily Kurth

Importantly, all these riders have qualified for the California State High School Surfing Championships! to take place April 23-25th, in either Oceanside or Huntington Beach.

It's been a great ride, and now it's time to pass along the Tiki Torch and whistle to the next in line to take over to coach and lead the surf team next year, as the current coaches and team manager all have graduating seniors. Please consider joining the team next year, and look for information when school starts again in the Fall 2022.

STORM SPORTS REPORT

The Student Coaches
By: Storm Sports Journalist Jack Brooks

There are plenty of stories out there about students making an impact. There are fundraisers for our community, acts of kindness for our neighbors, and students helping each other everyday in the classroom. But, some stories stand out, and students helping coach the HTH Girls Water Polo team is one of them.

Seniors David Rooney and Kolokai Lockwood are passionate Water Polo players, and this year they were given a chance that most student athletes don’t get. Last year, Coach Gary Mitchell missed a Girls Water Polo game against Mira Mesa. Without knowing what would come from it, David helped coach that game. “I have played water polo for a very long time so I know the game pretty well. So, I decided to step up and help coach the team,” said David. “This happened again a week later. The girls liked my coaching and the idea (arose) that I could coach next year.”
