IPOL DAY 2022
On June 17th, all of the Sophomores visited all of the 11th grade students at their internship site for their IPOL. It was an amazing day of adventure, learning and inspiration! We put together a video to share what the day was like. Enjoy!
What is it like to do an internship?
Hear from our 11th Grade Students by Junior Jasmine Romero
In 11th grade, HTH students spend 4 weeks working in a company. This year, our students interned at Living Coast Discovery Center, Nanocellect, Pet Hospital of La Mesa, Outside the Lens and many more. Thank you to all the wonderful companies that opened their doors to our students.
11th grade HTH student Isaiah Castro did his internship with Coffman Engineering and got featured on the company website. Check out the story here!

10th grade student Lucia Lopez created the Mechista Magazine by HTH Mecha and the LatinX club. The magazine features profiles of the Mecha members, original poems and art, history of the club and a deep dive into Dia de Los Muertos.

10th grade students on Lisa Griffin's team are featured on Justice 89.1FM Electric Picnic with Sue Taylor reading their original poems. Amazing.

COLLEGE NEWS

As we head into summer, rising seniors should use this time to get ahead on the college admissions process. Believe me, if you start early, you will thank me in August!

Here is a checklist for juniors:

 Summer:

□  Begin working on Letter of Rec packets for teachers/counselor

□  Update and refine college resume (on Google Doc)

□  Explore college application types (Rolling, EA, ED, PRI, RD) and dates

□  Begin drafting college essays (Common App, UC, supplemental)

□  Continue researching scholarships

□  Take SAT/ACT prep course, if needed

Revolution Prep partner page

□  Narrow college list to 6-10 colleges by Aug. 1st – reach, target, likely

□  Attend Virtual College Application Camp in August, if desired

        Aug. 15, 16, 17, 18:  12:30pm-2:30pm

And for our rising juniors, this summer is a great time to study for the ACT/SAT. Find a prep course or work through the book on your own. You can take the test as early as the fall of your junior year and then check it off your to do list.

You As always, you can email me anytime at nwyatt@hightechhigh.org and have a wonderful summer!
