Intersessions offered usually mirror the passions of the staff and student interest. This year, we surveyed families and students to align Intersession with interest. Check the 2023 catalog.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               Intersession Backpacking -100 Degrees of Freedom- this group is walking 100 miles on the Pacific Crest Trail to mirror the migrant experience. Send us words of encouragement on Instagram!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                Intersession Design Lab went backstage at the Old Globe to see the costumes and then see the production "Destiny of Desire" plus meet one of the actors. Next week, the group will see a tech rehearsal at La Jolla Playhouse.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Design Lab: Set and Costume Design for Theater Intersession Day One Students dove into our first table read of the play we will design for, and stretched their skills with Jelena’s Intro to Design workshop session, and a sorted gallery walk.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 Intersession Baking cooked up gourmet pizzas and ended the week with cupcake wars!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           INTERNSHIP                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   On IPOL (Internship Presentation of Learning) Day, the 10th grade students visited all of the 11th grade students at their internship sites to hear the Juniors reflect about their experience. COLLEGE NEWS                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 HTH Families and Students,  Approximately 600 seniors are graduating from HTH schools at our four campuses this month and nearly 81% were accepted to at least one 4-year college. They will be heading to a diverse range of colleges and universities including:      University of California      Boston University       Cal Poly San Luis Obispo      New York University      Drexel University       Harvey Mudd College       Stanford       Johns Hopkins University       Purdue University       San Diego State University       University of Connecticut       George Washington University  Seniors: A quick reminder to monitor your web portals and register for your college's 1st orientation date available -- that's how you will register for classes this fall.  See below your monthly "to-do" list, to be ready for Fall '23: Link to your College Transition checklist for May-August. It's important to check your college's webportal every week, to ensure you are on track to start in the Fall. Juniors, registration is OPEN now for the SAT test dates August - December. These fill quickly so register early.  Even if you are not sure you will apply to a school that requires test scores, it doesn’t hurt to take the test and have it out of the way. I will be meeting with Juniors week of June 12th.
