HTH HAPPENINGS
Senior Exhibition Day! Students exhibited their "Pack Your Bag" ceramics, Urban Oyster and Ethical Innovations projects and other work in their final Exhibition of their high school journey.
9th grade students took a field trip to SANDAG headquarters this week to learn about innovations in transportation and mobility in San Diego that we will soon see, for their Innovations in Transportation Project. Students are researching unsung innovators and inventors, and are planning their own PSA campaign that informs and encourages other San Diego teens to learn about these innovations and to try to use more public transportation options.
Thank you HTH ambassadors for leading tours, MECHA and STORM Baseball for welcoming incoming students and families!
We welcomed our new incoming families with a reception, tours, Senior Exhibition and a Bingo game that asked our new students to snap a selfie with Dean of Students Marcus Bell.

10th grade students are working with 11th grade teachers, 10th grade advisors and resident resume expert 9th grade teacher Lisa Griffin to create resumes that they will use to find their internships next year.

Where did you grow up?
Glendale, CA
Why did you choose to work in education?
There are many reasons why I am in the education field right now. One reason is that I was personally impacted deeply by past teachers when I was a student, and I hope to do the same for others. Another reason is simply because I enjoy working with students!
What do you love most about HTH?
I love how HTH cares about the students as whole people. I appreciate the emphasis on things being student-centered and that social-emotional well-being is valued just as much as other parts of the student experience.
What do you like to do outside of school?
I like being outdoors, spending time with loved ones, learning about emotional health, and trying to explore San Diego.

And thank you to Sensations Salud, LLC.
for being a community partner for a third year!
COLLEGE NEWS

May 4th 2023

Senior Chalk Day was so exciting!

This year, senior families attended the tradition of chalking the sidewalks in front of the school along with their student. Students illustrated their college choices with color and flair. Seniors also got a chance to take photos in front of the new photo wall with post certificate plans!

STORM ARCHERY
HTHPL Archers had a solid showing at the California High School Archery Championships. In the ranking round for the boys, Axel Mitchell came 2nd, Matais Fraser 11th, Turin Burdick 20th, Colby Knightly 25th, and Nikko Gambler 26th. For the girls Cassidy Knightly came 17th in tight competition.

Matias made the semifinals by coming back from a 0-4 deficit. Our triples team, consisting of Cassidy, Turin and Colby, shot fantastic, but really made heads turn when Colby’s arrow hit the metal support and flew back into the other competitors.

The championships came down to a full nail biter finale. Axel Mitchell and his competitor went back and forth, one winning an end, then the other, then a tie, ultimately the championship was determined on a one arrow shoot off. Axel shot a 9, an incredible shot, unfortunately the other kid shot a 10, a bullseye, placing Axel second in the state.
