HTH Happenings This Week

Do you think viruses are alive? What does the corona virus's official name -- SARS-CoV-2 -- mean?  What's so "novel" about it? And how would a vaccine against it work? HTH alum ('12) Gabe Armijo led juniors on Jesse/Jordan/Margaret + Chris's team through an in-depth discussion about the biology of viruses and the latest developments in understanding the cause of our current pandemic.  A research scientist at Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York City (and aspiring Olympic fencer), Gabe was a huge hit with students!
This is from Lucy Conover’s breakout room, yes.  10th grade has had amazing alum and career professionals tailored to students’ interests soaking to us this week (and will continue thru end of May).  A few examples include: numerous HTH alum who have gone out of state to college, stayed in SD, community college, public and private universities, gone to trade school, and studied abroad.  Some career professionals so far have include: an artist-entrepreneur, waiter-bartender-traveler.  Coming up, we have: architects, cardioigists, L&D nurses, software engineers for NASA, psychologists, a physics professor, and more.  So exciting!!!

Congratulations to HTH Seniors! Students celebrating with their congratulations lawn signs.
