And we will applaud you every step of the way," - Vice President Kamala Harris

DEEPER LEARNING from the HTH Journalism Club

Zoom Exhibition Thoughts

By: Lucía C. López

One event that Covid-19 couldn’t stop this school year was Exhibition Night! Even though it wasn’t the same, the presentations were still filled with creativity and hard work from all students at HTH. It is quite tricky to pull off what would be a typical social and lively event over Zoom, though our school pulled it off. So I asked an HTH teacher and several students to reflect on Exhibition Night this year.

Interviewee Profiles:

John Santos: 12th-grade teacher at HTH.

Student #1: Male ninth-grade student, first year at HTH.

Student #2: Female ninth-grade student, first year at HTH.

Student #3: Female ninth-grade student, first year at HTH.

PARENT WORKSHOPS

We wanted to design for families where they are, and that is at home. We value engagement over telling, and conversation over correctness. If we could not provoke wonder and discussion in public, we needed to provoke them in families’ homes.
We settled on postcards, and asked ourselves, “What math can you elicit with a postcard?”and “What math can children do with a postcard?
You can vote for Chris' project through Feb. 4th
