I hope the second week of the new semester finds you all well. Good news is pouring in for our seniors, please let me know when you hear something so we can celebrate! I am meeting with all of the Junior students individually this month to talk about college goals. A lot of you have big goals and I’m excited to start this journey with you. Here is the January College Connection which is a great resource for our families. For all of our families, please consider joining me for the Coastline San Diego Case Studies Program (see info below) on January 20th, this is a fantastic opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the college admissions process. As always, you can email me anytime at nwyatt@hightechhigh.org Have a safe and healthy winter break! Nicholle - Grades 9-11 - HTH will be hosting the annual Coastline San Diego Case Studies Program "virtually" for grade 9-11 families on Wed., January 20 from 5:30-6:30pm, followed by a Virtual College Fair from 7-8pm. Families will witness a mock admissions committee conducted by 6 current college admissions representatives from Boston U, Syracuse, U of Redlands, Oberlin, Colorado College and Chapman. They will be reviewing 3 student applications and collectively decide which fictitious student to admit, waitlist, and deny. In preparation for the Case Study, you are encouraged to review the 3 mock student applications and the mock University profile. Following the Case Study, a Virtual College Fair with over 70 colleges in attendance will take place from 7pm-8pm. Don’t miss the opportunity to learn more about a variety of colleges, introduce yourself to college representatives, demonstrate interest, and ask questions. Check out the website for more information. Please fill out this form to help organizers gauge interest in different topics.
